The Toddy Thomas School Three-Way Pledge

The Teacher Pledge:

I understand the importance of the school experience to every student and my role as a teacher and model. Therefore I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

·       I will provide motivating and interesting learning experiences.

·       I will explain my goals, expectations, and grading system to students and parents.

·       I will find out what teaching methods and materials work best for each student.

·       I will regularly communicate with parents regarding their child’s progress.

The Student Pledge:

I realize that my education is important to me. It helps me develop tools I need to become a happy and productive person. I also understand my guardian(s) and teachers want to help me do my very best in school. I know I am the one responsible for my own success, and that I must work hard to achieve it. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

·       I will come to school prepared and on time.

·       I will tell my guardian(s) what I am learning in school and how they can help me.

·       I will ask my teacher for help when I don’t understand something.

·       I will be responsible for my own behavior and will follow school rules during school and after school.

·       I will work productively in class and make my school a better place to be.

The Guardian(s) Pledge:

I realize that my student’s years are very important, and I understand that my participation in my child’s education will help his or her achievement and attitude. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

·       I will provide a quiet time at home and encourage good habits and reading.

·       I will talk with my child about his/her activities every day.

·       I will know how my child is doing by attending conferences, looking at schoolwork, talking to the teacher, and being involved with the school.

·       I will make sure my child is ready to learn by having my child rested, fed and properly clothed.
